The formation, composition and stability constants of palladium (II)chelates with 4-(2-pyridylazo)-resorcinol have been studied by spectrophotometric measurements. Two red coloured chelates 1:1 and 3:2 (Pd: PAR) are formed at pH 4.0 and 10.5 with maxs. 490 nm and 520 nm and their log K values are found to be 4.9 and 21.7 respectively.
